In 2023, Child Trends released its landmark publication, "A 100 Year Review of Research on Black Families". This report, broken into two volumes and several appendices, reviews social science research conducted between 1920-2019. This century's worth of research on Black families in the United States contains a wealth of sociological information. This review was conducted keeping in mind the social and economic realities of the times in which it was published, providing key context for the data contained therein. The authors of the report hope that the lessons gleaned from past research can inform a research agenda that prioritizes the well being of Black families in our country.
